Our recent family vacation included an airplane ride, car rental with interstate road trip and some vehicle changes. We have three children and traveling is getting a lot easier as they get older. Our youngest still uses a booster seat which is the only additional item left for us on our travels — no convertible car seats, pack n’ plays etc.! mifold makes this one extra item even less of a burden and it’s now sold at Target stores nationwide!
This revolutionary booster seat folds up and is 10 times smaller than a traditional booster seat making it perfect for travel. It’s super compact size allows it to fit in a purse, backpack, glove box or luggage. It works a little differently than a standard booster but it’s easy to learn.
This is what it looks like unfolded and ready to use. The red pieces on the sides adjust to different widths and the lap belt is threaded through on each side. Once the child is buckled in, there’s a strap with a clip in the back that clips to the shoulder harness and adjusts to a comfortable position at the child’s shoulder.
While the mifold is great for travel, it’s not something I’d use every day. Parker didn’t think it was as comfortable as her normal booster seat and was frustrated that she couldn’t easily buckle and unbuckle herself. That being said, it was really great for our trip. We packed the whole family’s belongings for a 7 day trip into one suitcase. It was 10 pounds over weight when we arrived to the airport so we removed some of that weight into our personal items (backpacks) to avoid the additional fee. The mifold was one of the items we moved as it was easy to carry in a backpack and made it handy to grab when we got to our rental car.
We visited family and juggled kids around in multiple vehicles— the mifold was easy to move from one car to another. We will continue to use the mifold on occasion now that we are back home since we frequently juggle our kids as well as friends to and from sports practices. Having an extra booster seat will really come in handy!
