So I sit down to check my emails this morning, and a close friend of mine who knows how much I enjoy reading up on the newest in baby gear, forwarded a link to me with a subject line “YOU MUST SEE THIS!”. And boy was she right! I was completely blown away by what the link sent me to – the new MiFold booster seat.
Booster seats are recommended for children until they reach the state regulations. Once a child is tall enough to see out the window without the assistance of a booster, they usually convince Mom or Dad to put the booster seat away, as they feel that they have outgrown it. However, this isn’t the safest thing to do.
Enter the mifold. mifold is the most advanced, compact and portable booster seat in the world. It is more than ten times smaller than a regular booster and it’s just as safe. So how is that possible?
Car seat belts are designed for adults. When a child uses an adult seat belt there are two problems: the lap belt should rest on the bones of the hips, however with a child the belt rides up higher on the delicate stomach area. The chest belt should rest on the bones of the shoulder, however with a child it rides up higher onto the neck or face. Both of these issues can cause significant injury in a collision. A regular booster seat lifts the child up to be in the elevated position of an adult. The bones of the hips are lifted to meet the lap belt and the bones of the shoulder are raised to meet the chest strap.
mifold does the exact opposite; instead of lifting up the child, mifold holds the seatbelt down. Holding the lap belt down to fit securely on the bones of the hips and pulling the chest strap down to fit securely on the bones of the shoulder.
Because mifold does not need to lift a child up, it does not need to be big and bulky. mifold is compact and portable so it can be carried by a child and stored almost anywhere.

The lap belt guides are attached to the end of the adjustable arms. These arms have three width settings; small, medium and large. To use mifold, you choose the setting that places the belt guides close to the outside of the child’s thighs.
The chest belt guide is attached to the end of the shoulder strap and can be adjusted so that it is always at the height of your child’s shoulder.
You only need to buy one mifold for your child and it will stay with them until they have grown out of car seats. The mifold is especially convenient for when you rent cars, ride in taxi’s, carpooling, or for special outings with just Grandpa and Grandma. They are affordable for everyone.
